Botanical Name: Larrea tridentata
The leaf and twigs were used to make chaparral tea, an old Indian remedy that was used for many conditions such as arthritis, colds, wounds and sores. Chaparral has been used as therapy for cancer, its high antioxidant content helps protect against cell damage.
It has also been used for kidney, urinary tract infections, gallstones, arthritis and liver disorders.
Chaparral also forms a part of several famous herbal formulas, such as the Hoxey Formula, Dr Richard Schulze’s Detox Formula, as well as Jason Winter’s Tea.
