Fresh flower heads are fried in batter to make elderflower fritters. The flowers are made into cordials and champagne.

Elder Flower is taken to relieve colds, flu, sinusitis, and feverish conditions. It tones the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Elder Flower tea is an ingredient of the popular YEP tea for colds and flu. YEP also contains yarrow and peppermint.

Other Uses

Flowers are used in lotions and creams for cosmetic use.
